Douglas Cohen received the 2010 Fred Ebb Award and two Richard Rodgers Awards for No Way To Treat A Lady (150 productions globally; Off-Broadway productions at Hudson Guild and York Theatre; Ghostlight Records on iTunes), and The Gig (workshops/readings: O’Neill, MTC Stage II, NAMT Festival; productions: Goodspeed, Sacramento and NYMF; Jay Records on iTunes). Both musicals are licensed through Concord Theatricals.
His musical with collaborator Dan Elish, The Evolution of Mann, was produced Off-Broadway at The Cell (cast album on Yellow Sound Label). With collaborator Cheryl Davis: Bridges (Richard Rodgers Finalist, Ignite Series at Times Center; Berkeley Playhouse world premiere) and Barnstormer (Jonathan Larson Grant for Lark Theatre bare bones; Red Mountain production; NAMT Festival). A Drama Desk Award nominee (for Children's Letters to God, licensed through Concord Theatricals), Doug penned scores for The Opposite of Sex (Williamstown Theatre Festival), The Big Time (book by Douglas Carter Beane, NYMF Festival), Glimmerglass (Goodspeed, NAMT), Boozy (directed by Alex Timbers), and A Charles Dickens Christmas (Theatreworks/USA, Urban Stages, licensed through MTI).
